The Cultural Association Tambo Tambulani Tambo was founded in 1995 in Pemba, Cabo Delgado Province of Mozambique. The organization promotes art through its own productions of making cultural events and to defend the rights and possibilities of artists. The small annual festival they organize—”Celebrating Cultural Diversity”, is one of the ways they promote performing artists within different forms of expressions—which also offer spectators the possibility to experience different art performances. The program includes: traditional dance, theatre, music, dance, painting, stand-up comedy, acrobatics and much more. All this is done on a voluntarily basis. Born in the central part of Zimbabwe Gweru, I was raised in a family of 4, my 2 siblings and my mum. I did my primary and high school and tertiary education in Gweru. I have a Bsc Honors in Music and Musicology from the Midlands State University. I moved to Mozambique in 2008. I have worked for cultural Organisations based here in Mozambique before I joined Music Crossroads last year for the Music Crossroads Academy project. Currently I am the Programs Officer and also run the day to day activities for the office.
